Indie Game: The Movie (Movie Review By FC100) Edited By Brother

I just can't describe what this movie is about it's just amazing and it's weird because it's a documentary. I don't really like that many documentaries but this is an exception simply because it's awesome. If you watched my videos on YouTube then you know I am a gamer and originally I felt no interest when I first heard about this movie but my older brother said to check it out and I accepted. One day my brother came over and put it on his Netflix account on our blu-ray player, so I gave it a chance. After that I was amazed for manly for one reason, many of the people interviewed in the documentary speak about how video games impacted them as children, they speak about their  memories of gaming. Most of them were apart of the generation when video games were first released on the consumer market. Most of the creators in the "Indie Game: The Movie" are part of that generation of original gaming. Most people in their late twenty's to early thirties like my older brother and his friends were around to play Atari and saw the invention of the first Nintendo console. When it comes to video games, I feel like I was born in the wrong decade or too late but I still love the video games now and I can look for older games I like from the past. This documentary shows how you can accomplish your goal no matter who stands in your way but what consequences you suffer from dedicating all your time to accomplish the creation and evolution of your independently created video game.

The movie talks about the creators of two great independent video games called "Super Meat Boy" and "FEZ"and they struggle to release it in time for an video game expo and release date that is also looking at the release of other extremely popular mainstream games. Independent games are video games made by a person or small group of people by themselves and not backed by a big company. The story begins with the early morning the creators have in anticipation of the release of their games and  narration on the subject. The first creator is Edmund McMillen  of "Super Meat Boy" who gets inspiration from the new-grounds online game of called meat boy so he come up with another idea  and called it "Super Meat Boy" both games are completely different but as homage he kept the name "Meat Boy" in his game. Before this he made another game which made him well known in the indie game circuit. Once he makes "Super Meat Boy" it became a hit and he was able to be financially independent.  He  starts to have difficulty after making a deal with Microsoft to put it in Xbox Live. The game needs to be popular enough with people online that is sells a certain amount of units in order to get back all the time and money he put into the game.

The other designer is Phil Fish, he co- created on the game "FEZ. He and his business partner had a huge falling out and Phill was left to continue the work on "The FEZ" alone. His issue was that the second game "FEZ 2" didn't seem ready for the release and later suffers the consequences of a not fully polished product. Many anxious online gamers get very impatient and started leaving  insanely rude comments about him. He states this and is it shown in the documentary, this proves the point that a lot of people don't fully understand that many independent game creators are only working by themselves and you can see that Phil Fish is quite a perfectionist so he takes as much time as he feels he needs for the insane game he creates. He took a few years to finish his the new version of his game which once again is hundreds of hours of his time and only his time because he is the only person working on it.  He goes to promote it the at a game expo but unfortunately realized there were a bunch of glitches that he didn't catch until the day of the expo. It's very sad to see how he worked so hard on this beautifully designed game and stands in panic as people testing the game can't really play it because the system continuously crashes.   .

Before I can continue the review let me make one thing clear these Designers don't have a huge amount of people helping them make the game they are doing it with one partner or even alone because these are independent game makers. Let me explain Game Companies like Nintendo, Sega, Microsoft, and Sony all have big amount of staffed employees working on the game for example Super Smash Bros have over 100 or more people working on it cause they have many support cause they have been working over the years. These Developers are working independently because they want make sure there creativity won't be taken over or changed by others. This happens a lot in the film industry as well, these executive producers or production companies seem to  think they have a better idea for something then the script writer that has a wonderful idea but after some or too many rights are sold to the company to start production falls prey to possibly being lame or just bad. Some movies have writers that change things from the original creator, which sometimes hates the idea but can't do nothing about it because they no longer have the rights to change back the concept. On some occasions it works out but most of the time this is why you get "generic" comedies or romantic comedies and bad action films. I feel that Hollywood wants to destroy The Originality of  film and television, not that all original ideas will always be great.

Wow that was a mouth full. Well like I said the movie ends up being great because they tell there stories on how they started playing games and then making them. Also that you can't let people stand in your way of trying to make something happen. It's happy, sad, and peaceful to watch but the only compliant that I have is how long it is, it's under 2 hours but that's my only complaint I won't explain the ending because it's an experience that I don't want to spoil for you.

I give this movie 5 SNES Controllers it's a movie for Gamers and people who likes watching documentaries and it's worth checking out. OK then FC100 signing out and see you on the next blog.

Top 5 of My Best Movie Trailers

Hey guys well it`s official The X-men series of movies are starting to improve because The Wolverine is in theaters and being a hit. Rotten Tomatoes have given it a 67% and IMDB a 7.2 rate that means it's doing well and I haven't seen the movie yet but the trailer looks spectacular but still is that what makes it a great film usually the poster brings people in but now the trailers are making the big impacts.

So what I will being doing is giving you my Top 5 List of My Best Movie Trailers and to make sure you get my point I will give you links to the trailers to watch let's begin.

5. Twinkle Twinkle Lucky Star
The movie itself is awesome but when you look at the trailer it's more peaceful to look at until the action scenes come in and so do the slap-sticks as well. Also it does kind of reveal the plot even if you don't speak Chinese and yes the trailer is in Chinese but it's still awesome to look at and it gives you a good reason to watch the movie.

4. Miracles

The Trailer is just beautiful just beautiful and it takes a pace in being gentle to just going extreme. Now I will say even if your hooked in to watch the film chances are you wouldn't like it that much because the trailer tricks you to thinking it's an action movie but actually it's a gangster, drama, and action film. But the movie is still good but not as much as trailer is awesome. Sometimes the trailer is better than the movie and that can be bad because then when you watch the movie it's not as good as you would thought. But still it's a good movie with a great trailer so check out if you have a chance.

3. Rocky II: The Story Continues

Even though this trailer is really old it still awesome to experience. Also who was that guy who narrated I mean his dialog is amazing! he literally doesn't reveal what will happen but he tells you the things that you will feel while watching this movie and man that is really cool. But the movie is itself is still great. Also I love the line when he says "Rocky II The Story Continues. This is why it deserves the number 3 spot.

 2. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of The Ooze

Even though not loved by many it's still awesome to me and turtles fans out there and the trailer is one of those reasons why this movie is awesome. When you watch the trailer is does feel like one of those classic trailers back in the 90's and it felt good just watching and gives people a reason to watch the movie with suspense and action.

When I saw the movie I thought it was O.K but when I saw the trailer I was amazed. I mean this was awesome and actually know how many people got hype up to see the film and was disappointed later well this trailer is the reason for that.
