Top 7 Video Games That Need A Reboot or Remake

Hey Guys BBD returns to another one of my blogs. There are a lot of games coming out this year and we are all hype to see a lot of new titles. but we are also expected some remastered versions of older games. Which is fine, but sometimes it's unnecessary. I do have something against remaking a game that doesn't need a remake. There are also Franchises that get rebooted and some are actually amazing like Rayman and Tomb Raider. This list is my personal opinion on games that needs a Reboot or Remake so let's not waste anytime its BBD's Top 7 Games That Need a Reboot or Remake(In No Order)

7. Clay Fighter(Needs Reboot)
This is one of the funniest Fighting Game I've ever played and it has probably one the best theme songs I have ever listened too. The game is where your fighter is made of Clay and you use them to fight of clay fighters, it's a ridiculous idea that works well. Though there are only 3 games(Clay Fighter 2: Judgement Clay and N64 Clay Fighter 63 1/2), it's a shame the series hasn't returned yet, but they were planning too. Though the return was cancelled due to no one caring for to return at the time. I feel that it needs to return with another developing team making it and starting from scratch and hoping it will be enjoyable as the original.

6.Balloon Fight(Needs Remake)
This is one of the most classic games and the NES and it's still very memorable to Nintendo fans. Nintendo has been releasing 3D remakes of their classic games and I feel that this game deserves the same treatment. Not really any much to say but this needs to return in some way.

5. Sonic 06/ Sonic The Hedgehog(Needs Reboot or Remake)

Now I know I you might be saying I'm scrapping the bottom of the toilet bowl, but in a way there is potential for this to be "at least good". If Sega can release this game for newer consoles and fix every major issue with it, then it could Redeem itself. Hoping Sega will take their time and huge process in fixing the game. I don't really have any problem with the story, but I can say they could change it a bit and making less suffering. They could also go all the way and completely make a new game with the same characters. I do feel that this game could be Fix and I can't be the only one who is saying this.

4. Wario World(Remake for The WiiU)

There are going to be GameCube titles available for Download on The WiiU and I'm hoping this game will be on the list, cause it is a fantastic game that has good replay-ability. It's one of those gems that deserves a comeback on the newer consoles.

3. XEXYZ(Needs a Reboot)

This is an amazing game on the NES. It's an underrated Gem made by Hudson Soft. The game revolves around the main character of Apollo who progresses through the game in an alternating format that switches between platform, side-scrolling action (similar to the Super Mario Bros. series) and side-scrolling shooter action (similar to Konami's Gradius series). The goal of the series is to destroy an evil boss — Goruza — rescue a princess — in this case, Princess Maria — and save the planet.[3]

In the platforming levels, defeated enemies drop life ('L' blocks) or money ('E' blocks) powerups. Apollo collects the currency of the land ('Balls'/'E Ball') in order to exchange for acquiring power-ups and information, as well as access to minigames. Vendors are scattered throughout the platforming levels through doors or hidden gates. In the shooter levels, 'S' and 'P' oblongs are found that upgrade speed and weapons, respectively. It's a game I feel needs to return on WiiU/PS4/XboxOne. It would be great if they made a whole new story and tweak the gameplay and make it fresh and new. I would love to see a new return.

2. Sonic Adventure 1-2(Needs Remake)

I Know It doesn't make sense since there are already the GameCube remakes, but what I'm trying to say is to completely HD the entire game including the cut-scenes. These are one of my favorite sonic games of all time and I feel that they need to be revive again and make something new out of it. I mean it is possible to do that just check some of these test videos on how it would look like if they were HD
Sonic Adventure:

Sonic Adventure 2:

This is exactly what I'm talking about. The Things I feel that need to be change, well except the gameplay if it could be tweaked then fine. 1. Change the Voice Actors/Actresses to the current ones 2, make sure the animation matches the lip movement(everyone complains about those) 3. make to boss battles more interesting. I feel that this could really help out this game.

1. Super Mario 64( Needs HD Remake)

This is my favorite mario game of all time, no contest this is incredible, I love everything about, it's the first game I've every played, it's the first game I've finished, It revolutionized the game industry, without this game none of the games we have now would't exist. I know there is a DS remake which was good, but I felt the Remake came out too soon, I mean with Ocarina of Time 3D and Star Fox 64 3D I feel the same should go for mario. I mean I can see this game look amazing in HD on the 3DS. Heck let's go further how about on the WiiU. They can probably tweak the Controls to be better and also the Camera would be better as well, I can see the potential! Nintendo needs to do this.

And that's my top 7 games that need a reboot or remake, but I would like to know what games would you want to return or be rebooted and started from scratch, I'm very interested. ok BBD signing out and I will see you on my next Blog.

BlackBeltDragon's Top 12 Christmas Specials

Better Late, then never.

BlackBeltDragon’s Top 12 Favorite Christmas Specials!
Runners Up:
1.      Gremlins
2.      Die Hard
3.      Batman Returns
4.      House of Mouse: Christmas Special
5.      Merry Christmas Drake and Josh
6.      Kenan and Kel Christmas
7.      Donkey Kong Country: The Kongo Bongo Festival of Lights

1.      Olive the Other Reindeer is a special that I see every year, and I do my best to make sure of that. It’s about a dog named Olive played by Drew Berrymore who loves Christmas and loves to celebrate it with her family and friends, but she finds out the news that Santa is cancelling their flight because one of the reindeers broke their legs. (So I’m guessing everyone knows that Santa exists in this world, and the news needs to be brought up about this.)  So Santa asks all the other reindeers in the world if it’s possible that they can help, but olive believes that Santa actually said, “That Olive the Other Reindeer” could help. She goes on a trip to the North Pole with a con penguin named Martini played by Joe Pantoliano. (Do you get it? He is named after an alcoholic drink. Most kids aren’t aware of what a Martini is, so I think that makes for a genius joke.) So soon she’s off to save Christmas and joins Santa on his sleigh and rides with the other Reindeer. This special has a lot of good things going for it. I think the best highlights are the amazing voice acting and great animation. The soundtrack sung by talented artists also gets you moving and makes the movie that much more enjoyable. It’s a special I look forward to every year, and it will always be known as my favorite Christmas special.

2.      The Polar Express- From the same people who brought you Who Framed Roger Rabbit and The Back to the Future Trilogy. This is the team’s first Christmas movie and I’d say this movie is more like an experience. It’s even better when seen on a Big Screen or in IMAX. The movie on its own is good and definitely worth checking out. I love the message it conveys, the spirit of Christmas it brings, and the animation is absolutely gorgeous. It’s an amazing Christmas special experience you should absolutely check out.

3.      The Town That Santa Forgot- This is a majorly underrated special that a lot of people need to know about. It’s a Cartoon Network Christmas special based on the poem Jeremy Creek; it’s about a young boy who is always greedy and only wants toys and boy does he have a lot already. One day, his parents have had enough of buying him toys and now Jeremy is stuck and still wants more, so he actually decides to wait and let Santa bring him toys. So he writes this incredibly long list of things he wants and sends it to Santa at the North Pole. The letter is sent, and Santa and his elves are very surprised by the list and wonders why it’s so long. The elves believe that Jeremy Creek is a location and not a person and they find out that a place called Jeremy Creek is the only place that Santa never went to and so he decides to deliver the gifts to the town, while Jeremy is waiting for Santa on his roof. Unfortunately, Santa doesn’t come, and Jeremy is upset. The next day while watching the news, he discovers the town that is named after him and finds out that his gifts were given to the kids in the town who actually never had gifts or anything given to them in their lives. It’s actually a forgotten town. At first, Jeremy was upset about what happened to his gifts, but then the children of the town thanked the person who gave them this miracle in their lives. After seeing how grateful they were, Jeremy was actually touched by the good he did and learns the true meaning of giving. I like this special for one reason only. At one point in my life, I was this kid, and I was always greedy and always wanted a lot of stuff for Christmas, but I watched this special when I was really young, and I really started thinking about the message it was trying to convey. I eventually learned how to give more rather than always receiving and after the first time I did that I really felt happier. This is a wonderful special that teaches a good moral about how it’s better to give then to receive. Plus this special has Dick Van Dyke as the narrator and other great voices such as River Phoenix, Ashley Johnson, and Harrison Ford. Who can pass that up?

4.      Mickey’s twice upon a Christmas is the sequel to the short Christmas specials of Mickey’s once upon a Christmas. This one is done in CG animation that is done well that it looks pretty; I don’t have too much to say about it despite how great it is. It’s just a wonderful special to see for the holidays and there’s a very catchy song in the end credits. It’s definitely worth checking out.

5.      The Koala Brothers: Outback Christmas- There’s probably a lot of you who don’t remember this show, but I certainly do. It was a show on Playhouse Disney that is now called Disney Junior. It’s about two pilots who go around helping their friends at the outback. They go on many adventures around the world as well. In this Christmas special, the Koala Brothers are having a Christmas party with their family and friends, but one of their pen pal friends named Penny can’t make it because she broke her wing in an accident. So The Koala Brothers go to Antarctica and bring Penny to their home for the holidays. I do enjoy this special a lot for its charm and its wonderful characters. I remember watching this show as a kid and I’m still excited about it. It may not be great, but it is definitely good and worth your time. It’s a special that brings out the effort is trying to celebrate together with family and friends. (Talk about the great stop motion in this show).

6.      Christmas Eve on Sesame Street- Now I’m not talking about the recent Sesame Street Christmas special. I’m talking about the 1978 special. I watched this special many times as a kid and I still remember it to this very day. I use to own the VHS tape of the special and kept it for a long time, but eventually lost it and I was really upset when that happened. It’s about Big Bird trying his best to believe in Santa Claus, but certain signs are getting in the way of him believing so he tries to find out the truth while heading to a party with his Family and Friends. Other sesame street shorts are also a part of this special. This is such a wonderful special that I’m not going to reveal much more information about because It’s beautiful, amazing, and you just need to see for yourself.

7.      Bah, Humduck! A Looney Tunes Christmas- Ok, ok. Yes. I know this is another version of A Christmas Carol, but there are differences. One using Looney Tunes characters and taking place in the modern times. It’s kind of like another Christmas carol adaptation of Scrooged with Bill Murray which is another good one to check out (show Poster). The advantage this special has is Daffy Duck in the role of Scrooge and the other Looney Tunes characters being the ghosts and some very noticeable voices of actors and actresses. What I also like about this special is that it’s the last time we ever saw the classic Looney Tunes. It’s a great special with great jokes and it’s lots of fun to see. (Show clip of that’s all folks).

8.      Home Alone and Home Alone 2: Lost in New York- This is a movie that has been on reruns on TV over and over again. There’s no chance that you’ll miss seeing this Christmas classic, but I can’t say the same for the sequel. It’s pretty much a simple story about a child named Kevin who is upset that his family doesn’t treat him well with the exception of his mother. On the day of their Christmas vacation, they forget to bring Kevin with them on their trip to Paris. So now he is left home alone without the family. While Kevin is enjoying himself, he finds out that two burglars are trying to rob his house and now he has to defend it. The truth is that I actually like the sequel better than the first one because of the location. Although I put two movies on the same number again, this time it’s excusable because they both have the same plot, but the sequel has something more to it which is why I like it better. These two movies are worth seeing on the holidays.

9.      SpongeBob SquarePants: Christmas Who? - Now I know there hasn’t been a good SpongeBob episode in a long time, but that doesn’t mean you should still hate him. Back then, SpongeBob was awesome and this special is proof of that. It’s about SpongeBob learning about Christmas from his friend Sandy Cheeks. She tells him everything he needs to know about the holidays, but he was really interested about the existence of Santa Claus. He tells his friends and they all try to celebrate their first Christmas, but there is one person who doesn’t believe. That’s right! Squidward! So now what will become of SpongeBob and his friends and could there be a Christmas in Bikini Bottom? I won’t spoil it for you here. You must see the special to find out. What I really enjoyed about this special is that even though Squidward can be a jerk to SpongeBob it’s not because he hates him, he is just annoyed by him. Sometimes he just has to realize that SpongeBob is just trying to be his friend and wants to bring happiness to his friends. I also really like Squidward’s reaction in the end when he discovers something magical. It’s a great special with plenty of the great humor the show had in the past, as well as Tom Kenny as Patchy The Pirate.

10.  Santa Clause 1 and 2- Now I know this is a cheat, but I love both of these specials equally. Well, I do like the sequel a bit better once again. Let’s just begin with the story. It’s about a father named Scott Calvin played by Tim Allen trying to give his child Charlie the best Christmas ever and spend some time with him, but one night Scott hears  something on top of the roof and discovers it is Santa Claus. Then Santa falls off the roof and dies (well that’s got to hurt). Then Scott puts on Santa’s coat, goes to the North Pole and tells the elves what happens. He then finds out that he is the new Santa because he wore the suit and read the fine print of the card in the pocket. He now needs to learn of his true destiny and fully become the new Santa Claus. The sequel doesn’t have too much that’s different it just involves him trying to find a Ms. Claus. What I really like about these movies is how far they go with their humor. The back and forth on people both believing Santa Claus and the performance of Tim Allen as Santa is really good. It’s a wonderful pare of movies I do my best to see every year.

11.  Grandma Got Run Over By a Reindeer- Yeah, yeah. I know there are a lot of people who have issues with this movie, but I like it for a few good reasons. The movie is based on the title which is a funny Christmas song. It’s not great, but it’s enjoyable. The story is about the grandson Jake trying to find his grandma after she goes missing. He also discovers the existence of Santa Clause and finds out the truth about his cousin Mel. That’s pretty much all I’m going to tell you because the whole story is very silly and kind of doesn’t make any sense, but it’s nonsense and humor is what makes this special so enjoyable.

12.  Mickey's Christmas Carol- now this one is known as a classic and for good reasons. Its shares the same story of the Charles Dickens Book, but with Disney characters. There have been many adaptations through plays and movies. Most of the time, each adaptation is the same length in time. This version is one of those rare ones where the whole story is packed into 30 minutes and the emotions of the story are still strong. That’s pretty impressive. If you like the story then you are definitely going to like this adaptation. The short is available on DVD and Blu Ray, it’s also part of the House of Mouse Christmas special as well.

Thank you all for joining me on this countdown have a wonderful holiday to all and to all a good night. BlackBeltDragon signing out and see you next time.

Top 10 Video Game Sequels

When it comes to sequels to movies most of them are never better than the original, but for video games it's a completely different story most sequels to games are either great or better than the original. There are times where it can't succeed, but it's rare. So for the occasion of the new Super Smash Bros, I will talk about my top 10 video game sequels.

Warning: These are only games I've played, also there will not be any RPG's on this list and many of you might be disappointed about that, but I haven't really gotten into those games yet.

  10. Sly 3 Honor Among Thieves

I do have to say after playing this game I really got hooked on the series, I do want to inform that this was the first game I played in the series and didn't play the first 2, until later on. this game got me hooked into open world environments in gaming, well for the most part. It's a great game I will never forget.

 9.Super Mario Galaxy 2

Now, many of you might  be saying that this is a reboot or remake of the first game, well to me and from what I played it's a prequel. I know some may argue that it takes place for another 100 years(it's video game logic don't question it). This to me is better than the original adding in new stuff to try out and new challenges that await for you in deep space.

8.Super Smash Bros Melee

To many fans this is the best in the series, well a new one is coming out so it's not for sure yet. I have really great memories of this masterpiece of a fighting game, it certainly deserves the praise it get's for trying to better than the original and it succeeded. I like how it plays and the characters have incredible powers that I can't get enough of and that's why it deserves the number 8 spot.

7. Super Street Fighter 2: The New Challengers

This is more of an update than a sequel, but I say this is the better version I've played so far. I love all the characters and the fighting mechanics still holds up even today. I won't say much because everyone has talked about the series a lot already.

6. Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage

I haven't played the original yet, but I do plan to when I get the chance. I have memories of this sequel for a while. The commercials hyped up this game like crazy, when it came out it made me "feel the burn"(tagline from the commercial). I say play this awesome game in Summer or Winter it's a treat.

5. The Legend of Zelda: A Link To The Past

I haven't finish this game yet, but I just can't leave it out. Many people say it's a fantastic game on the SNES. They were correct, it's a worth wild game to get on that console. The puzzle solving and weapons are great.

4. Sonic and Knuckles
it's probably the second sonic game I beat without any cheats or save states, the first was sonic chaos on the game gear. This is a great sonic game with fast speed, hard action, and great music that I can't get out of my head. It's definitely one of the best in the series.

3. Sonic Adventure 2: Battle

Yeah Yeah Yeah, I know this is an update version of the same game, but it's the only one I played. I don't know what the differences are in the dreamcast version. What I can say is that if you have a GameCube this is a great game to own with good story, characters, and loads of fun.

2. Super Mario Bros 3

I played this game and saw the movie the wizard, I like them both in their own way. The game is a great side-scrolling platformer of the Mario trilogy on NES. It's definitely worth getting because of it's good gamplay, fun items, and many world to visit. This game is the best on the NES.

1. Pac-Man World 2

I remember when I got this game for my 12th birthday, a day I will never forget. I was a huge Pac-Man fan and this is one of my favorite games of all time because it had a great world filled with a bunch of great characters and items alone the way. there are different varieties in the game like skating on ice and bridges, an amazing underwater level, where you either swim or use a submarine. It's a blast  I'm serious. It's loads of fun for any fan of the series. I highly recommend getting this on the GameCube or Ps2 it's Fantastic!

Barnyard:The Original Party Animals(FC100 Review)

Barnyard film by nickelodeon, starring Kevin James as a cow who
brings funny comedic jokes as well as fight off a coyote army. Ok ok I know what your saying, why are you reviewing this movie if so many think it's horrible. I do want to tell you all the truth, I think this movie is good, reason why is because it brings a good amount of nostalgia and lots of funny lines I remembered to this day. the movie has a good plot going for it, there are a couple of things wrong with the film, like the ending is sort of rushed and there is a ton of product placements. There is still a bunch of thing that are good, like the jokes in the movie and the characters, there are just too many to count. I saw the movie when it premiere and I was young at the time, from what I heard everyone said this movie will scare kids. I don't really understand that, because when I saw it I wasn't scared one bit. Maybe it was just one of those lying excuses to make the film look bad. I recently watched the film and it still holds up, if your looking for an obscure film that actually has a lot of funny jokes than this movie is for you. If your one of those haters, that didn't like it the first time, then check it out again and maybe you'll change your mind.

Top 10 Video Game Remakes and Reboots

I know how directors lose their originality and bother making anything new and just remake a popular movie from the past, but of course most of them are bad and some are good. Video games are different, when a developer makes a remake or reboot of a franchise  most of the time it's awesome and sometimes it's bad. I have made a list of what I think are great remakes and reboots of video games, so let't begin.

10. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
I want to tell the truth here and say that when the Nintendo 3DS came out. I had no idea it was a remake of another game of the zelda francise, but I manage to play the original later and both are amazing in their own way. I know I might get hated for this, but I prefer the remake better than the original and it's amazing. The graphics are great and 3D is mind blowing to look at and the reason it's on the bottom of the list is because there is nothing new added the only difference is the graphics, but it's still a great game that pays tribute to the original.

9. Yoshi Island DS
I know I know it's not a remake or reboot, but this counts for a reason. It follows the same formula than the original Yoshi's Island on the SNES. I would count this as a remake, it's a great game that offers lots of challenge and brings back good memories of the original. I do have to say that it's more harder and I never bother to go back to the game which is bad cause it got good praise. I still like it but it's really challenge, I suggest to go back to the original before playing the remake.

8. Power Stone Collection

I love power stone it's a fantastic fighting game and even though it's not the console version it's still a great game. This remake maybe a cheat since it's a collection of the original two games, but I think it deserves a good praise to have power stone on the go. and so remake " Welcome to the number 8 spot of my top 10 remakes and reboots"!

7. Ducktales: Remastered
I love Ducktales, after finding out their was going to be a remake of the original game I was pump up to play it and after that it was great joy. I love the cut scenes and I love the game. This game feels like I'm watching a new episodes of ducktales and it's fantastic. I don't care what others think I will not change my opinion, also the theme song ohhhhhhhhhh my gosh. It's still catchy and incredible and I love it. The only nitpick I have is when they talk how come their mouths don't move.

6. Punch Out!
There is not really much to say about this except this is a great remake of the original NES game. This was brought to the wii just to be part of the wii fit family, it's great for exercising.

5. Mortal Kombat
I know that everyone think this is a great game and that it's a welcome return of the mortal kombat francise. I already did a whole video review of this game and it you want to check that out here is the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6dJqRMy40Q4. It's an amazing reboot of the francise.

4. New Super Mario Bros
When I found out there was a remake of the original Mario game I lost hope for Nintendo thinking that they ran out of ideas, but then after playing the game I knew that this remake is amazing. When they say remake it's a remake, pays tribute to the original a tries something new a succeeds it's a great game. if anyone finds a copy it's worth checking out.

3. Donkey Kong Country Returns
I have played the original game and still love it and the remake is way better. The remake doesn't take too much from the original. it feels new and it succeeds at becoming a game that ca stand out on it's own. I love playing the colorful and wonderful levels of this game, it feels so good playing this game. I will however say that it does have some unfair challenges but it's still amazing.

2. Super Mario 64 DS
When I found out there was a remake of one of my favorite Mario games of all time. I was excited because it was the launch title for the Nintendo DS(when it came out at the time). I was crazy about this game when  I played it, but I will always prefer the original over the remake. I still love the remake and it shows lots of great stuff. Paying respects to the originals and adding 3 more characters to the mix, pick up this game because it worth playing on the go.

1. Street Fighter 4(Series)
I know I know it's a cheat to put the whole series of the street fighter 4 games and that it's still a continuation of the series, but Hadoken you got owned. I will count this cause it like the original street fighter 2 series of how there were so many updates of the games and they are still amazing. I think the updates are good but starting to milk itself with ultra coming out, but I still think street fighter 4 is a great return to the original street fighter games. If anyone says otherwise then HADOKEN!

The Perks of Being A Wallflower (FC100 Review)

The Perks of Being A Wallflower the film that everyone says it's a great movie, that is was so amazing for it's fantastic characters and having the director being the guy who made the book was an excellent idea. Weeeellllllllll, I don't think so I think the movie is O.K just that, I don't really understand why so many people really like this movie. I mean I understand it had great morals and the acting was good it's just there are many problems in this movie. I saw this movie twice and I still see the problems it has. The first one being that it feels a bit unbelievable like the high school that the main character is in is filled with really mean people. That is not real to me. I have been to high school before and I have seen few but never so many in just one school. Yes I know there are bullies in school and people who have conditions, but this school feels like still unreal to me. Yes I also know this movie takes place in 90's but still it doesn't feel real. The second problems I have in the movie is that I felt uncomfortable when watching a few scenes in the movie. There is a few parts where charlie and his friends are doing a dance on stage for a celebration of the rocky horror picture show, I just said to myself "Movie have you have no shame" I know that the characters are having fun but I still feel uncomfortable. I also felt frustrated on how charlie was trying to break up with his girlfriend and he does it by kissing Sam right in front of her,OUCH! That hurt from here not only that but there were better solutions even at that time. Now your probably think I hate this movie but I don't I think it's O.K and that the actors was did amazing performances and the lessons in the movies are great. If you want a better film like this I say check out The Silver Linings Playbook I also did a review of that with the help of my friend CJF1994.
